Gifting Musical Instruments
Thank you for your interest in making an instrument donation to Children’s Music Fund. We are currently not able to accept donations of gently-used instruments given global health concerns. We appreciate your understanding.
Musical instruments are provided to CMF Kids receiving Music Therapy sessions to enhance their emotional well-being and provide for musical interaction between sessions and throughout their life.
Act of Kindness – Sponsor a CMF Kid
A request to fulfill a sick child’s wish for a musical instrument is an opportunity to provide joy and truly help at that very specific moment of need.
How can you help? Be a sponsor, a gifting angel, by sponsoring one of our CMF Kids. Your name will be provided in the gift card that accompanies the delivery of the Music Therapy sessions and an instrument. Purchase a gift of music for a child today, pay all at once or a little every month, whatever is the best option for you.
When Are Gifts Made
We provide sessions with musical instruments to our CMF Kids all year long to help in many situations. Here are the most common:
- Fulfill requests by hospitals and physicians for a child in need

Top Requested Instruments
We love gifting instruments to support Music Therapy session. We try our best to match every detail of the special request, like when we once received a request from a teenager for a blue guitar. Then, a blue guitar it is.
Why are the details important? Here is the story of the blue guitar: Blue is her favorite color. It is a request that is in the child’s control and has meaning. Following the amputation of this teenager’s leg due to cancer, she now calls her blue guitar from Children’s Music Fund her blue leg that she leans on everyday for support. That blue guitar is more than an instrument, it has helped her through some difficult times on her road to recovery.
